How do we define radicality today, and what role should universities play in a rapidly changing global context? We’re thrilled to welcome Anuna de Wever, climate and social justice advocate, Jemma Vercruysse, phd-candidate and social justice advocate, doctoral researcher Lien Stolle and Kurdish human rights advocate Deniz Agbaba, for an in-depth discussion on these crucial questions.
Anuna is drawing from their recent book Laten we eerlijk zijn (Let’s Be Honest, 2024). Jemma will enrich us with her experience from the UGent occupation. Lien will add to the conversation with her scientific research regarding the role of protests at the university. Deniz will give the audience insight into criminalizing resistance and activism through the struggle of Kurdish Women, her trade union work and her commitment to refugees.
